Here’s an article I wrote for eShell World Philippines Issue 9 2008…
Undoubtedly a “summer to remember'” for the Shell Shared Services Centre-Manila Customer Service Centre (SSSC-Manila CSC) & Customer Master Data (CMD) Mainline, Fleetcard, Customer Service Assurance (CSA) Group and the Management Team of SSSC-CSC last May 10-11, 2008 at Fontana Leisure Parks, Pampanga. Our group was graced by the presence, wit and humor of Jose “Pepe” Ferreros, Centre Manager for CSC-Manila.
Showcasing our “enterprise first” mentality, immediately after breakfast, during the first few hours of arrival, the group had its General Meeting where Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), productivity, statistics, changes and future plans were discussed.
After lunch, our group had an Activity Hour facilitated by trainers Hazel Santos and Randall Ballesteros, who led us in fun games within the confines of the conference room as well as underneath the scorching heat of the sun. The activity brought out the best in each one of us while strengthening the value of teamwork.
This gathering was culminated by an awarding ceremony, which recognized those in our group who have excelled in our respective fields and the wacky “Okray-an Da-Who? Awards” where we gave out poo paper mache for special awards such as “Short-term Memory Loss” (for the most forgetful Customer Service Professional) and “Houdinni Award” (for the Customer Service Professional most often caught missing-in-action), to name a few.
The GenMeet concluded with an AVP Tribute to our beloved out-going Operations Manager, Melinda Sarmiento and a welcome for our Officer-In-Charge for Pilipinas Customer Service Office, Christopher Millora, who currently serves as Quality Assurance Manager.
Bright sunshine welcomed us on the second day as we headed all fired-up to the Water Park, plunging and wading in the world-class wave pool that can electronically produce various types of waves. We followed the flow of the lazy river where we played water games like pre-school kids, while the more adventurous members of our group slid down the three giant aqua thrill slides.
We ended the day relaxing at the grandiose villas where we chilled-out in between activities and rested our tired bodies overnight. Indeed, our summer away day was “team-building” at its finest.
